Why Our Work Is Needed
We believe that every person with a disability has the right to dignity, mobility, healthcare, and inclusion. However, these rights remain out of reach for many families in Uganda, Kenya, and surrounding regions. Wheelchairs and orthotic devices are often expensive, imported, difficult to repair, or simply unavailable in rural areas.
Sapphire Africa Foundation exists to bridge this gap. Our work responds directly to needs identified by the communities themselves, ensuring that support reaches those who are most vulnerable and least served.

Why Our Work Can’t Wait.
Across East Africa, people living with disabilities face persistent barriers that limit mobility, healthcare access, and economic opportunity. For families affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and other disabilities, the lack of affordable assistive devices and rehabilitation services often leads to isolation, dependency, and deep financial strain.
Sapphire Africa Foundation addresses these gaps by delivering practical, community driven solutions that restore dignity, independence, and hope. Our work ensures that vulnerable individuals are not left behind but are supported to live healthier, more inclusive, and fulfilling lives.
